Chelsea Player Ratings: Final Pre-Season Match in America, Losing 1-2 to Real Madrid

The Blues ended their pre-season tour in the United States with a 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid, which means that they have only won a single game in their five matches and conceded a total of 12 goals. Chelsea started

the game by attacking Real Madrid relentlessly throughout the first 10 minutes, with Maresca’s team showing off their quick passing skills to the opponent’s goal. However, as usual, Chelsea often fell off their horse at the last moment, which prevented them from scoring an early lead. It was not until Madrid’s players started to regain control of the game that they were able to score the opening goal through Lucas Vazquez in the 19th minute.

Before Brahim Diaz added another goal for the Royals to lead 2-0. Chelsea pulled one back before the break when Enzo Fernandez’s cross was headed past the goalkeeper by Noni Maduaque. Before the first half ended with a score of 1-2, in the second half both teams took turns attacking/defending but were unable to add to their team’s score. In the end, the game ended with a score of 1-2 and Real Madrid took home the victory.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Philip Jorgensen – 6/10

Made his Chelsea debut but conceded two goals. Had he dived deeper into the first one. He could have saved the goal. His set-pieces were good.

Reece James – 6/10

When he was put into full-time defense, he didn’t do well. Today, he was completely overwhelmed by Madrid players. He still looked confused about his positioning.

Benoit Badiashile – 5.5/10

Didn’t help the ทางเข้า ufabet team’s defense much. Didn’t check the defensive line well. Plus, his weakness is that he can’t keep up with Madrid’s attackers. He doesn’t seem very suitable to be the last defender.

Levi Colwill – 6.5/10

Made some good interceptions and caused problems for Madrid players. He had a good chance of speeding up to block Vinicius’ shot. The only thing that could be improved is his footwork, which could be a bit more accurate.

Malo Gusto – 6.5/10

Today he came in to play as an inverted fullback, helping to pack up Chelsea’s midfield, but he wasn’t very effective. In defense, he had many moments of accurate interceptions and blocking, and he made one killer pass.

Romeo Lavia – 6.5/10

Still the heart of the game from the back, he played many effective long balls today and was brave enough to keep the ball with him.

Enzo Fernandez – 7/10

Played well in both attack and defense. Enzo played well with the long ball today. He also had an assist from a cross that went to Madua Ke’s head. He also had a chance to shoot from outside the box for himself.

Noni Maduake – 6.5/10

The danger of dribbling was not seen today. He didn’t have the balls to control his feet and chose the wrong moment to play. He got a goal at the end of the first half.

Raheem Sterling – 6/10

Had a lot of touches, has pace that is still dangerous but is not good at finishing. When asked to do it in the final third, Sterling was a waste today and was not good enough to get past in one-on-one duels.

Christopher Nkunku – 6.5/10

He may not have been as impressive as he was against Man City , but he was still up to standard today, finding opportunities to help his teammates in the attack, but unfortunately he missed a chance to score.

Mark Kiew – 6/10

Didn’t really get involved in the game, touching the ball only 15 times throughout the game, but what made him stand out was getting himself into areas and linking up with his teammates. Even when he was caught out, he still found a way to let his teammates play.

Substitute

Moses Caicedo – (on for Romeo Lavia 58′) – 6/10

Still needs some adjustments, didn’t really do much today.

Mykhailo Mudryk – (replaced Raheem Sterling 58′) – 5.5/10

Has pace but nothing else. Mudryk doesn’t have the rhythm to play for Chelsea and when he does have a chance to shoot, he hits it nowhere.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – (on for Mark Giew 66′) – 6/10

Came on as both teams started to lock down and didn’t get to play much.

Wesley Fofana – (on for Reece James 70′) – N/A
