Thai futsal team lost to Vietnam 2-3 in ASEAN tournament, entered the semi-finals against Indonesia.

Thai Futsal lost to Vietnam 2-3 in the 2024 AFF Futsal Championship, Group A, Match 4, Terminal Hall, Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall.

In the first three games, Thailand and Vietnam have won in a row and have already qualified for the semi-finals. Thailand has a better goal difference and if they draw, they will immediately become the ยูฟ่าเบท group champion.

In this game, head coach Miguel Rodrigo sent the first 5 players as Charoenpong Prasansat (GK), Thiraphat Muensri, Piyawat Petchnoi, Narongsak Wingwon (C) and Thedsak Charoenpong. 

The game started in the 5th minute, Thailand scored the first goal 1-0. Thedsak Charoenphong passed the ball in front of the goal. Before it deflected off Nguyen Thinh Phat into his own goal. Then in the 12th minute, Vietnam equalized 1-1 from a corner kick before the ball reached Pham Duc Hoa who shot with his right foot into the goal.

In the second half, in the 31st minute, Thailand scored another goal to lead 2-1. Ammarin Ekaphan passed the ball to Thanachot Saosaeng who shot with his right foot. In the 34th minute, Vietnam tied the game again at 2-2 from Dinh Cong Vien’s right-footed shot in front of the goal. Then in the 35th minute, Vietnam scored their first goal of the game to lead 3-2 from Dinh Cong Vien’s shot, and it was his second goal of the game. 

The game ended with Thailand Futsal losing to Vietnam 2-3, ending as the runner-up of Group A and going on to meet Indonesia, the winner of Group B, in the semi-finals, while Vietnam, the winner of Group A, will go on to meet Australia, the runner-up of Group B. In the other match in the same group, Malaysia defeated Timor Leste 2-0.
